Discovered with a astonishing freestyle on french radio Skyrock, then noticed with a first single “Nightmare I”, produced by Vladimir Cauchemar (The Shoes, Orelsan, Lomepal, Roméro Elvis, 6ix9ine…), James The Prophet comes out a little more from the shadows with “Glaive Freestyle” a remake of french most famous rapper’s hit Booba and congratulated by the artist himself !
His first mixtape “Summer Archives” is releasing on January 17th, and a series of shows are planned with The Pharcyde and Mos Def, in Paris and throughout France.
Halfway between old-school rap and new school, “Summer Archives” is a clever mix of what constitutes James’ musical DNA. Reflective and impactful texts like his idols who gave Rap his acclaim (Jay-Z, André 3000, Kanye West …) and modern and eclectic instrumental inspired by the greatest artists of his generation (Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, Bas, Saba, Smino, Burna Boy …). Through these ten pieces, James invites us to discover his world with a sensitivity and a rare maturity for an artist of barely 18 years old and reveals with a certain modesty the extent of his talent as an author but also as a performer aptly mixing the ardor of rap with the sweetness of singing.
