Rising star, Rinadzy, discovered his talent for making music as early as middle school. Growing up, Rinadzy often performed in front of his classmates and showed off his ability to rap. Balancing his passion for music with a career in professional soccer, Rinadzy struggled to dedicate enough time and attention to expanding on his musical talents, especially at such a young age. After an injury that put a halt on his sports career, he was able to view his potential at a successful music career with a more hopeful, and less busy mind. As the years have passed, Rinadzy went on to progressively develop his talent, and shape it into what it is now: the future of Hip-Hop.
Debuting with his single “For the Game” in 2021, which has already skyrocketed to almost 150k views on Youtube, as well as 1 million plays on Tiktok, Rinadzy is rapidly gaining popularity, especially within the U.S. Influenced by the likes of Drake, Lil Wayne, and Eminem, Rinadzy’s music is a mix of both Trap and Bounce Hip hop music. He likes to portray his personality with his songs; from rapping about his nonchalant approach to women to his dedication to building wealth, legacy, and an inspiring career. “My songs are all a projection of my thoughts, I like to keep it real with my lyrics. Authenticity is not something you come across often these days” he states proudly. With a strong influence over the young generation, huge support from celebrities, and a constant growing Instagram fanbase of almost 20k followers, Rinadzy is ready for the next chapter of his Hip-hop dominance.
He has just released his brand new single ‘Overseas’ and fans already can’t get enough of this track. Rinadzy’s plan is to continue releasing a series of singles throughout the upcoming months, including a feature he has been teasing with 24kgoldn, and dropping his highly anticipated EP during the summer. I got the chance to talk to the rising star on all things music; (Insert ‘Overseas’ cover here)
Hi Rinadzy, Welcome to That New Hype! Everyone would probably know you from the huge success you had with your single “For the Game”, for all your fans out there, how did you become involved in music and how were you discovered?
Hey, thanks for having me! I got involved in music as a kid back when I was in music school for some time, but I really got into rapping when I was around 10 years old, man I loved it so much. I think I gained my first bit of attention when ‘Heart’s Missing’ went viral on Titkok, which was crazy because that track was more of a hobby thing to me, it was the first track I ever released. After that, I just kept going and here we are.
Growing up who was your biggest musical inspiration and what did you love so much about their artistry?
I would say Eminem and Lil Wayne were the biggest idols for me growing up. Remember going around school rapping their songs, they probably were the main inspiration that led me to where I am. Lil Wayne had me sitting down on my bed relating to stuff I had absolutely no business relating to ahaha, and Eminem just made me look at rap with a completely different look because of the way he structured his flows and rhymes, two legends of Hip-Hop.
You look up to Drake as an artist, and I love what he did with his album “Certified Lover Boy” blending Trap and Pop, is that something you would love to incorporate into your musical stylings, being able to be diverse in all genres?
Definitely. You see with an artist like Drake, there are no boundaries to his music. He can sing, rap, do it in different languages and different genres, that what I like about him, no limit to creativity. I don’t want to ever be stuck on just one genre. I want to have that mix.
You have over 1.5 million views across all the platforms and just about 20k+ followers on Instagram, how powerful do you think social media can be for upcoming artists?
Very powerful. Social media is an upcoming artist’s main weapon. You gotta use it and use it wisely. Connect with other people, interact with your fans, keep them updated. It’s all an important part of being an artist.
Your brand new single “Overseas” is out now. What inspired this song? How does it differ from previous songs you’ve released?
“Overseas” just clicked in my head as soon as I heard the beat. It sounded like a DJ Khaled beat and instantly put me in my creative mode. I was thinking mostly of Drake’s “Popstar” with DJ Khaled when I came up with the track. The type of song that just makes you bop your head and sing along to it whenever you hear it, that was the idea and the catchy hook did that.
Given the opportunity, who would be the one person in the music industry you’d love to work with?
Damn, that’s a good question. Setting aside the artists I look up to, making a song with Lil Baby would definitely be a milestone for me. My whole group just be listening to him 24/7 and I get a lot of inspiration from the way he can run on beats. It’s crazy. We gon make it happen one day for sure.
I’ve seen you mentioning the ‘6P’ in some of your songs and social media posts. What is the 6P?
The 6P is the street I grew up on. Everyone in my crew, we’re all from the 6P. No matter where we are, it’ll always be our home, and we’ll always be proud of it. Can’t forget where you come from.
