TNH: What inspired you to start music?

LC: Hearing artists like Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Mystical, Lil Wayne, Lupe Fiasco, and others gave me the inspiration to want to start making music. My big brother, Farinzio, was the nucleus to the inspiration. While I was a young child, he rapped and made music. Just like most young kids, I wanted to be like my big brother, so I started freestyle rapping to songs and instrumentals at a very young age.

TNH: If you weren’t doing music what other career do you see yourself doing?

LC: I would say anything dealing with having my own business dealing with finances or community development. I feel like my personality and ambition would fit in perfectly with those careers.

TNH: What do fans of yours have to look forward to in the near future, are there any surprises to come?

LC: Many surprises to come! I don’t want to let out too much, but I am working on my first album that will be released this fall or winter. It is titled “Brainstorming.” I prioritize myself on being unique and want to bring a different element to the music world. I will be doing an Essay that will consist of five paragraphs (five albums) called “Hip-Hop’s Grandchild.” My first album, “Brainstorming,” is all about getting my thoughts together and getting hip-hop fans’ thoughts together on what is to come in the future from me. The next album would be a “Prewrite” album or “Rough Draft” that would lead to the “Introduction” (first paragraph/album) of the essay. Pretty dope huh?

TNH: When you’re working, what inspires you or what do you draw inspiration from?

LC: Listening to other music artists and observing them inspires me because it makes me want to be different and separate myself from the competition. I also draw inspiration from books that I read to gain more knowledge on certain subjects and ideas for songs. The impact I can make on a song to a person through music is another factor and very big to me. I enjoy making music for everyone to easily listen to without having to worry about anything negative or explicit but also fun and exciting to listen to.

TNH: Is there any advice you would like to give your younger self for coming into the music industry or something to help the songwriting/producing process?

LC: I would say to stay patient and wait for the right time and seize the moment when the opportunity comes. Fans will come gradually and not overnight. It’s a long process.

TNH: What’s the meaning of your track “Already Know”?

LC: This song is all about my challenging childhood upbringing coming from and out of a “Dead End” and how I used that to make me who I am today and to inspire others. I feel like I’m on my way to success and wanted to make a song that will give me that reminder to always move forward and never backward. This song is more than just about me though. It’s for anyone who has been in a similar situation. Plus, it’s great to play while exercising or for any upbeat or intense activity as a bonus.

TNH: Did you plan on releasing a video for the single?

LC: Yes, the video was filmed in Atlanta in December during the holidays. I plan to release the video this January. Fans are going to love this one. Stay tuned.

TNH: What are your plans for the rest of the year?

LC: My plans are to finish up my first album “Brainstorming” and to do a few live concerts every now and then. I want the world to know Lyrical Chris is here and a new wave of Hip-Hop is being generated.

TNH: Are you looking to stay independent?

LC: I am open to signing a deal with a major record label. If it is a reasonable deal, I would definitely sign with them to reach an even bigger audience and increase my platform and impact on Hip-Hop.
